These conditions are often chronic and require special care, especially since dogs and cats have limited ways of communicating their discomfort. Experience is key to correctly interpreting the symptoms of these conditions.

The evaluation of neurological diseases in dogs and cats requires a thorough review of the patient’s history (anamnesis). I always take plenty of time for this.

Once a complete picture of the disease’s onset and all accompanying symptoms has been established, the necessary diagnostic procedures are discussed with you as the pet owner and carried out with your consent.

My veterinary practice is equipped with a wide range of diagnostic equipment for this purpose. Electrophysiological testing, in particular, can help diagnose many neurological conditions in dogs and cats. Using this equipment, we can perform hearing tests, vision tests, muscle function tests (EMG), nerve function tests (ENG), and electroencephalograms (EEG). My experience in electrodiagnostics is based on 25 years of practice. The findings are correspondingly reliable—which benefits your pet.

The treatment of neurological diseases is coordinated in close consultation with you as the pet owner and adjusted as necessary. Should neurosurgical intervention be necessary (e.g., for a herniated disc), an experienced surgical team is always available at my veterinary practice. Through anesthesia management and appropriate assistance, they create a calm environment—which is essential for these sometimes delicate procedures—allowing me to perform them professionally and with the necessary composure.

I involve you, the pet owner, as much as possible in the post-operative care of dogs and cats. You will be instructed in physical therapy techniques that can be performed at home, and the appropriate follow-up care will be discussed regularly. We will remain in contact for as long as the healing process requires, with the goal of restoring normal neurological function to your dog or cat.

When managing chronic conditions (such as epilepsy), once your dog or cat has been diagnosed and their medication has been adjusted, the treatment can be fine-tuned or adjusted over the long term through communication via modern media, so a visit to my veterinary practice isn’t always necessary right away.

Our neurological specialties in detail:

Veterinary Neurosurgery

Epilepsy in Animals

Foraminal Stenosis

Paralysis

Electrodiagnostics

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.16″ background_color=”rgba(27,127,193,0.15)” custom_padding=”30px||8px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_margin=”-26px|auto||auto||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ global_colors_info=”{}”]

Überweisungsformular

K.i.K.
