Our veterinary services for treating neurological diseases in dogs and cats begin with a thorough diagnosis. We take plenty of time both to review the preliminary report and to conduct each step of the examination. In difficult cases, the diagnostic process can sometimes take several hours. Scheduled appointments ensure that other patients do not have to wait during this time.<\/p>\n

The best anesthesia is the kind that ends with the procedure. Our anesthesia equipment (inhalation anesthesia, TIVA via perfusors) allows us to administer controlled anesthesia\u2014that is, anesthesia whose depth can be immediately increased, decreased, or terminated as needed. This stems from our particular concern for the safety of your pet during anesthesia.<\/p>\n

Our anesthesia patients almost exclusively have an intravenous line (IV catheter) so that we can provide them with infusion fluids while they are asleep and administer necessary medications promptly. An ECG and respiratory monitor are available for anesthesia monitoring. Blood pressure measurements are performed using ultrasound\/Doppler technology as needed. With the use of modern anesthetic medications, long recovery times are a thing of the past.<\/p>\n

We are happy to discuss any questions you may have in detail beforehand. Dogs and cats should not be fed for 12 hours prior to anesthesia, but may drink. Patients undergoing treatment should take their medications at the usual times even before anesthesia.<\/p>\n

You may stay with your pet until it falls asleep and, if desired, when it wakes up, so that it greets you first.<\/p>\n
